Eyeliner Aftercare

You will get full aftercare instructions to care for your new eyeliner when you book online and at your appointment.

What to Expect

After your procedure, you may experience swelling. Some clients will swell minimally, and some will swell more. Everyone heals differently. This can cause the area(s) to appear uneven, red, itchy, and irritated when healing. The area(s) will also appear much darker and thicker than the final result.

The After Ink'd will be provided for you at your appointment; however, you will need to purchase the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

  • Wash your eyes gently morning and night with a gentle face wash or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Use something that will not cause your eyes to sting.

  • Apply a sparse layer of After Ink'd with a clean, wet Q-tip several times a day to keep your eyeliner moist.

  • Do not touch your eyes with your fingers at ANY time. Only use wet Q-tips to touch them or clean them.

  • You may use a cool, dry compress if you feel you have any swelling. Sleeping with your head elevated can also help with possible swelling.

What not to do

Do not submerge your tattoo under water or get it very wet for at least TWO WEEKS after your procedure. This includes swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, bathtubs, ocean/lake, etc.

Avoid strong sun/ UV exposure - no tanning beds or natural tanning for 30 days after your procedure.

Avoid sweating into the procedure area, and avoid extreme sweating if possible - activities like extreme cardio/strength training, hot yoga, etc. are more likely to affect the healing process.

No retinol/anti-aging products, lash growth serums, or lash extensions for at least 30 days before and 30 days after the procedure.

If you do not follow the aftercare instructions, you will ruin the results of your procedure, and there will not be a “free touch up” if this happens.
